Nothing new...z same grouping, z same fighting...i think by this time all Orthodox Christians have well understood that the fighting between the two groups is for their interest. It has nothing to do with religion. Every body is running for its benefit not for the chruch. we will not hear both groups as they are not acting in christian way. But we will stand with the church always.
The issue is bloody fighting between MK and Begashaw etal. It has nothing to do with the church. Begashaw etal have been preaching in the church for more than a decade. At that time no one has complained about this group rather even MK icons like Daniel kibret was preaching with Begashaw in one Gubae (eg Millennium hall). The fight started only after begshaw started to insult MK for unknown reason. Daniel Kibret also in his article explicitly mentioned that the fighting between MK and Begashaw started when begashaw touched MK. Therefore, the current fighting seems conflicts due to group interest. Both groups need to be benefitied from the church rather than working to the benfit of the curch. This is by no means acceptable for christians. therfore, every Orthodox should stand with the church not with any of the group. The should learn that God can use the stones if he cant get humans to pass his words.
Tewahedo knows when to say Egizabher and Eyesus. I don't see any problem with the saying and differneciating Egziabher and Eyesus. It is clear the church believes that Jesus is God. But only in New Testament we say Yesus and unless there is special thing we don't have to say Eyesus in old Testament.
This is the right way of calling Jesus and God. The two names are not interchangable.
I do agree with Tewahedo. Currently, most orthodox christian are focusing about what you say (the words) not your message. It is clear that most orthodox christian ignored the canon (even if it is not right). Talking about canon does make people unbeliever.
I don't really know why some people are so careless to leave this basic spritual issue aside. Our fathers kept the faith and all the practices through their blood but we seem to be very tired of even analyzing evidences and trying to keep our faith live. One thing that I can tell for sure is the fact that some of the people who post their comments on this web may be non-believers so we don't have to take what they say for granted and get confused. Thanks to God that, the sunday school students are now able to differentiate the teachings of our true fathers from those of the Lutherian and God is helping them to be watching the scene so closely.
It is not really a question of taking a side as I am always on my Lord, Savior & Almighty Christ's side. But I don't want other people even to think of trying to change my side with some what similar grouping composition as I know that the faith has already been given to our spritual fathers long ago( thousands of years ago) even before Luther was born and now I am only supposed to maintain it. I am quiet sure that the devil doesn't want us to stay in the same side so he is busy of devising techniques to sub-divide the bigger group. It is even very frustrating to see my precious faith in God open to sometimes useless interpretations of peoples views. Just follow Jesus and the one true religion(Orthodox Tewahedo) and don't be fans of preachers as they come and go. The genuine ones(preachers) stay, the fakers take off their masks and start to show up in public. Let us pray to the 'weak' followers and fans of prachers, like me, as they may easily be mislead. Let us also pray for those real preachers as this goes to be a challenge for them and God will return them back with more blessings and grace.
Dear my Ethiopian brothers and sisters, this is my first time to write on a post like this and the comments given by other people motivate me to do so. Don't be so emotional- what is happening is what is supposed to happen and I am sure, we are being tested with this. Stay where you belong and Pray real! When I say pray real, I mean it pray from your heart and ask our blessed Mom, Virgin Mary for her help on our empty faith. Let our God,the God of our blessed fathers & mothers,shine his mercy on us. I saw a video of Dn Begashaw. In his video he defended himself for saying Don't say Trinity say Jesus. I also heard what he said before so as far as I understand from the two video that Begashaw and his followers are not teaching pure Ethiopian Orthodox teaching. By the way I never attended Sunday school or anything but I Know about Orthodox teaching because sometimes I attend mihila and recently I started to take a coerce for Elders. And I also would like to mention that even I saw the first video until I saw their reply I never believed that they have creating problems in the church.
